Amy Reno received her Master's degree in Speech & Hearing from Marquette University in 1995.
She also earned a Certificate of Clinical Competency from the American Speech and Hearing Association. Prior to completing her graduate studies, she received her degree in Speech Language Pathology at Ball State University.Amy became interested in speech therapy during her high school years. At the time, her father was recovering from a stroke and receiving speech therapy services.
Following her formal education, she gravitated toward pediatric speech pathology. She worked for a speech therapy agency, in schools, and in rehab settings. Several years later, she went to work for Children's Hospital of Wisconsin, one of the highest rated facilities of its kind in the United States. She worked with children from newborn to 18 years of age and became proficient at the treatment of head injury, feeding and swallowing issues, and children with special needs.
In 2001, following several years at Children's Hospital, Amy started a private practice in speech therapy. Her practice thrives to this day in both clinical and private school settings. In addition, she continues to follow one of her passions, which is treating children including those with special needs.
Amy has come to discover over the years that she enjoys "connecting" people who need assistance finding resources or experts in her field. Access to speech therapy services can be severely limited for some. These facts, combined with her years of experience, come together to form the inspiration and foundation for Speech Tails.
